Camp Allatoona Aquatics Base
Swimming Merit Badge
What to Bring Prerequisites Resources Registration

You've learned your strokes, right?  Now join us and learn how to improve them!  Enjoy games and activities while you learn. This is not a learn-to-swim class. You must know all your strokes before you arrive. We will work with you to improve them and, hopefully, earn the merit badge by demonstrating the correct stroke and form.

This is a weekend class.  Mark your calendar to attend all day Saturday, and Sunday until noon.  (Sunday is optional.).

Class size:  8

What to Bring:

    • Swimming attire and towel
    • Shirt, long pants, belt, socks and shoes that can get wet (everything will)
    • Signed merit badge application (blue card)
    • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sun block)
    • Lunch & water bottle
    • Current medical form

    • Scouts are required to pass the standard BSA swim test for swimmer the morning of the class in order to participate.
    • Make sure to bring a Merit Badge blue card signed by your Unit leader and your Merit Badge book.
    • Read and study the entire Swimming Merit Badge pamphlet and complete the Discussion Requirements before arriving
