What to Bring Prerequisites Resources Registration

Fly-fishing is a specialized form of fishing that combines skill and artistry. Because it is so rich with tradition, it is a passion for millions of people. The beauty of the water, the solitude, and the skills that the sport requires have made fly-fishing very important in the lives of many notable people.


Class size:  8

What to Bring:

    • Fishing rod and gear
    • Closed toe and heeled shoes. No crocks, sandals or flip flops are allowed
    • Completed Fly Fishing MB workbook, linked below
    • Signed merit badge application (blue card)
    • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sun block)
    • Lunch & water bottle
    • Current medical form


    • Scouts must have completed the workbook linked below and practiced the required knots outlined in the back of the workbook
    • Make sure to bring a Merit Badge blue card signed by your Unit leader and your Merit Badge book.



The programs offered are for Troops, Crews, Ships, and Teams. Cub Scouts may not participate in our programs pursuant to the BSA's Age-Appropriate Guidelines For Scouting Activities.
